Introduction

Manual handling accidents account for more than a third of all reported accidents each year. Amongst other things, this can be as a result of pushing, pulling or lifting heavy objects or machinery. Due to this it becomes essential that you understand the correct manual handling procedures in order to avoid injury.

Furthermore, the HSE has found that a high proportion of people working with computer workstations or equipment report aches, pains or eye discomfort. As with all other aspects of work, health and safety around workstations is essential, and there are certain procedures that should be followed.
